VANCOUVER CO-CHAIRS:
FRANCI STRATTON
I am honored for the opportunity to co-chair the 2016 LOVE HER Vancouver event. I have witnessed the impact ovarian cancer has had on the lives of those fighting this disease during treatment and how it has affected their family and friends. I have known women affected by ovarian cancer, which included my hairdresser of 22 years, and a few community friends who did not survive this devastating disease. As a community, we unite when we share common goals and experiences. Through community spirit and outreach we can make a difference in the lives of so many through awareness, prevention and support. For these reasons I truly believe events like LOVE HER bring us together to help unite a shared vision for hope, health and happiness. Franci is currently the Chief Administrative Officer at Nemetz (S/A) and Associates, an electrical engineering firm of over 50 years. She is also in her third term as School Trustee on the North Vancouver Board of Education. |
PAUL PALMER
I am thrilled to be part of the team and to co-chair the 2016 Love-Her-Vancouver event with Franci Stratton this year. My involvement in Ovarian Cancer Canada has been through friends and colleagues asking for support for a wonderful event, but also having seen the impact that cancer has on family and friends. More needs to be done to fight ovarian cancer and the funds raised through this event contributes directly to research activities in support of early detection and treatment of this awful disease. I believe that we all when aligned in a common purpose the people of Vancouver can find it in their hearts to contribute in any way they know how to fight ovarian cancer so that hopefully (sometime in the near future) no daughter, mother or grandmother has to suffer from this. Paul is a Partner at EY. He leads the Financial Services and IT Advisory practice in British Columbia. Paul supports a number of clients in Vancouver and across Canada in both private and public sector. EY is a global firm of over 220,000 people who are aligned in a purpose to Build a Better Working World. |
THE VIRGINIA GREENE AWARD:
Virginia Greene was a leading light for the business community in Vancouver. Prior to her passing from ovarian cancer in 2010, Virginia and a group of her friends organized a luncheon aimed at increasing awareness. Over a thousand people attended, their eyes were opened and lives were forever changed.
